Opening a Bakery Requires Alot of Work

Like all business ventures a bakery concept would require a lot of detailed work and devotion, the right ideas and direction. The business concept of a bakery cafĂ© lounge that creates fine baked goods daily, offers free coffee or fruit drinks with valid purchases and provides a location for students and community members to enjoy a relaxed stress free environment to study or enjoy the day. The business management biographies for the company would consist of approximately 10 employees including Owner, taking charge of the finances and overseer of the complete business operations. The owner would take lead on day to day situations and place orders when needed, and review all information, requests and complaints made by employees and customers. An investor would be another important role for the company because it would present financial strength and security for the business, having a say in what direction the company would follow. The business would consist of two to three managers to assist in the day to day operations under the ownership standards, the managers would be in charge of helping other employees, provide training to new employees and count money during shift changes. Bakers would be the corner stone of the business because they produce the baked products that will keep the customers returning. The remaining employees would be standard employees which would take orders and provide the customer service needed to maintain continual consumer response’s in a positive degree. They are the fore front of the company and have the most interaction with the customers. There are many baked goods and fine desserts businesses, to ensure that my business venture would be more appealing to the market I would ensure that the products maintain the high quality and value, casual feeling atmosphere where work and school can be researched and with the exceptional customer service the operations would have a stronger appeal to the community. The initial operation budget for any business can be very costly, a new site location and construction would not be the direction I would want to take in regards to building a bakery. I would like a current location with adequate facility size, this will save money while construction would still be needed to build the proper kitchen materials and place equipment bought. The initial budget needed would be around between $500,000 and $750,000, additional construction would be needed to place the proper equipment as needed and services that would be promised to consumers. This price range would include the purchases of equipment including the convection oven, proofer, sheeter and other additional equipment needs at a price range between $45,000 and $60,000. The following list will show case the price cost of the startup of the business. • Site location: $250,000 to $300,000 • Equipment: $45,000 to $60,00 • Kitchen Construction: $40,000 to $50,000 • Employee yearly salaries: $40,000 • Internet services: $500 • Baked good materials: $20,00o to $40,000 • Beverage materials: $20,000 • Marketing: $10,000 • Additional costs: $25,000 It is always important to be prepared for the unexpected when building a new business venture.
